Philanthro Productions' Latest Bright Idea: GLOW, Benefiting Project Green Design by Architecture For Humanity Los Angeles

Young adults to party in support of sustainable development in Los Angeles

Los Angeles, CA (April 18, 2008) - Philanthro Productions, a non-profit that creates unique opportunities for young adults to engage in charitable giving, today announced a new partnership with Architecture for Humanity Los Angeles (AFH LA) under Architecture for Humanity, an organization that seeks innovative solutions to humanitarian crises and brings sustainable design services to communities in need. Philanthro will host GLOW: Party for a Greener Future at V-Lounge in Santa Monica on Friday, April 25 to kick off the partnership.

All proceeds and awareness-raising efforts from the affair will be in support of Project Green Design, AFH LA’s effort to revamp low income housing developments in Los Angeles. Project Green Design will use local and affordable materials that not only save money, but also conserve resources and promote sustainability.

“AFH LA is about doing good works with direct results,” said Anneke Jong, 25, Philanthro’s Chief Marketing Officer. “By benefiting Project Green Design, Philanthro ensures that our event will help improve the Los Angeles community in tangible ways our patrons can appreciate long after they leave the venue.”

GLOW brings the glamour of Philanthro’s Hollywood events to Los Angeles’ Westside for the first time. Once again, DJ Tony Collage of Power 106 FM will headline and Philanthro’s signature touch of special guests, giveaways, raffle prizes and more will top off the night. Doors will open at 9pm; 21+ only.

“We know that our generation is very conscious about the environment and actively seek ways they can make their own communities more sustainable,” said Austin Kiessig, 23, Philanthro’s Chief Development Officer. “By working with AFH LA, we hope to convey that common-sense sustainability and innovative design solutions can result in low-cost, high-value changes in our patrons’ communities and day-to-day lives.”

Philanthro will also work to get young professionals involved in Project Green Design after the event as volunteers, helping to implement AFH LA’s recommended design improvements in selected communities on the Westside.
