Philanthro Productions Celebrates One Year Anniversary With Blow-Out Results From Its Fourth Charity Benefit

Philanthro raises record-breaking funds and awareness for Komen Race for the Cure®

Hollywood, CA – LOS ANGELES (February 9, 2008) – Philanthro Productions, a non-profit organization dedicated to eliminating the trade-off for young adults between going out and giving back, today announced results from its most successful benefit to date. Philanthro’s February 8th benefit – PINK: Party for the Cure – generated $8,400 for its charity partner, Los Angeles County Komen Race for the Cure®.

With 775 young adults in attendance, Level 3 in Hollywood became the place to see and be seen Partying for the Cure. The benefit party doubled as a pre-registration event for Los Angeles County Komen Race for the Cure®, taking place Saturday, March 15 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. Philanthro and race team partner The Hopscotch Network more than doubled team registrations during the party. Patrons filled the dance floor as DJ Tony Collage of Power 106 FM spun into the night. At the height of the party, Yesi Ortiz of Power 106 FM introduced the night’s inspirational guest speaker, 31-year-old former model Stefanie LaRue, a young breast cancer survivor and advocate.

Philanthro’s Vice President of Corporate Sponsorships, Priya Koundinya, 25, commented on the atmosphere of the night. “The venue was perfect, and the mood was great. Most importantly, I had more people come up to me and say, ‘The party is awesome, but what you’re doing with your mission really stands out’. These sentiments, coupled with the success from race signups and contributions, prove how we’re truly reaching our generation.”

"A significant portion of the money raised at PINK was from voluntary donations,” said Matt Lew, 25, Philanthro’s Chief Financial Officer. “This goes to show that once our patrons get in the door, they're inspired to go the extra mile to engage with a great cause."

At the close of its fourth successful charity event, Philanthro Productions has become an effective vehicle for change, offering young adults tangible ways to give back unlike any other. The Philanthro team will continue to leverage its reach among young adults as it builds momentum for next month’s race and future events.
