Gen Y Closes Out Summer in Style at Cabana Club Charity Event

Hollywood, CA – (August 31, 2007) – Philanthro Productions, Inc., released financial figures today from its latest event benefiting a partner charity. The August 30th party and fashion show, Strut, was the third success for the Philanthro team, earning $7,000 for Camp Heartland (a non-profit dedicated to improving the lives of children, youth, and their families facing HIV/AIDS and associated hardships).

Nearly 600 members of the Gen Y set turned out at Cabana Club, partying to music from DJ Tony Collage of Power 106 FM and a runway fashion show featuring Hollywood designer Ray Ray. Patrons enjoyed emceeing by Yesi Ortiz, also from Power 106, and an impassioned welcome and speech from Jonathon Bennett (Mean Girls, 2000), one of Camp Heartland’s most prominent supporters.

A pre-event community leadership mixer drew more than 30 representatives from approximately 15 non-profit organizations. “The purpose of the mixer was to generate ideas of how to better foster a relationship between our generation and charity organizations,” said Ian Lee, 25, Philanthro’s co-founder. “We were excited to meet with so many allies tonight, and everyone in the room seemed to agree that partnership possibilities are endless.”

All who attended Strut recognized that Philanthro has struck a chord with 20-somethings. With its fresh approach, the organization directs the attention of young adults to important charity causes. “We know we can reach Gen Y with celebrity guests, fashion shows, and music – and the Philanthro slap bracelets didn’t hurt, either,” said Anneke Jong, Philanthro’s VP of Marketing, referring to the sale of branded products at the event. “But throughout the night, party-goers became aware of Camp Heartland’s cause and left in support of the charity and our organization.
